The Dunes du Port lie at the foot of the Pointe du Meinga. They were purchased by the coastal conservancy agency in 1977 and constitute 6.5 hectares of dunes from which sand was extracted in days gone by. The dunes consist of a terrace of sand backing onto an ancient cliff. Their very specific outline enables the spread of scrubby heath at the top of the dune. The dune, created by the wind, rises to a height of up to 81 ft. (25 m) above sea level in some places.
