BROCÉLIANDE FOREST
The ancient Brocéliande forest takes you on a journey of mythical sites in the footsteps of King Arthur, the Knights of the Round Table, Merlin the Wizard and the fairies Vivien and Morgan.
It was in the winding valley of Val sans Retour (Valley of No Return) that Morgan is said to have imprisoned unfaithful knights. Be charmed by the Golden Tree or the Fairies’ Mirror in which the whims of the sky are reflected.
Vivien’s House, which overlooks the Valley, offers a beautiful view of this intimate landscape. Further north, the mythical site of the Fountain of Barenton is where Merlin and Vivien dated. According to legend, a single drop of water spilt on the slab is enough to unleash a storm in the heavens.
MERLIN’S TOMB
Then set out to hunt for the Fountain of Youth and Merlin’s Tomb, the remains of a megalithic site with a holly bush growing through it. Lastly, at the end of your quest, the romantic banks of Etang du Pas-du-Houx are ideal for a rest, along with the vestiges of the Forges de Paimpont.
AROUND PAIMPONT
Many other natural sites, such as the Chambre au Loup in Iffendic or the unspoilt valleys of Serein and Aff, have a captivating charm specific to the atmosphere of this forest.
