SeasideTOP 5 MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES

The most beautiful beaches in Ille‑et‑Vilaine

Whether your love building sandcastles, playing sport or reading with your feet buried in the sand, here is our selection of the five best beaches to discover in Ille-et-Vilaine.

THE BEACH YOU HAVE TO EARN

For fans of discreet beaches for reading, Nicet beach, north-east of Saint-Malo, is ideal for you. It boasts many qualities: fine sand, protected from the wind, an amazing view, etc. But like all good things, you have to earn it! You have to go down a steep staircase with approximately 100 steps before you can enjoy it.

THE SMARTEST BEACH

The large Écluse beach is the emblematic site of Dinard. It features elegant little blue-and-white-striped beach huts and a large salt-water swimming pool. Always lively, this beach is perfect for anyone who likes having everything close by, as it is lined with numerous shops, the casino and lovely café terraces.

THE PRIVATEER BEACH

At the foot of the ramparts, Bon Secours beach is the mythical beach of Saint-Malo. In front of you is Grand Bé island and Fort du Petit Bé, both accessible when the tide is out. For swimmers, a salt-water swimming pool with a diving board thrills children and fills up with each high tide.

THE FAMILY BEACH

Situated in Saint-Coulomb near Cancale, the beautiful Anse du Guesclin enjoys a protected natural environment. The only construction nearby is Fort du Guesclin (the former residence of Léo Ferré) perched on its little islet. The beach is lifeguarded and is accessible for people with reduced mobility. Seafood lovers can go to the foot of the fort to collect shellfish when the tide is low.

THE SPORTY BEACH

If you are a budding champion and basking yourself in the sun isn’t your thing, Hirel beach is the one for you. With its wide open spaces and the view of Mont-Saint-Michel, you can discover the local speciality: sand yachting!
